Ashley Steines, sr., L, Camanche, IA

All-Iowa Conference, 2006 and 2005

Single-handedly re-written the digs records at Wartburg in three years as starting libero…Takes total of 2,469 digs into senior season...Averages 6.11 digs per game in career…Also all-region, all-American, and all-conference player on Wartburg softball team…Elementary education major.

Kayla Goodchild, sr., OH/RS, Royal, IA
Three-year member of Wartburg volleyball program…Gained valuable experience on junior varsity level during freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons…Biology major.

Kelsey Steffens, jr., OH, DeWitt, IA

Second-leading hitter for Wartburg’s offense in 2006…Ended with .183 attack percentage and 356 kills…Also member of Wartburg women’s track and field program, earning three indoor and outdoor All-American honors…Elementary education major.

Heather Harvey, jr., DS, Stillwater, Minn.

One of three players on 2006 squad that appeared in each of 134 games…433 digs were fourth-highest last fall…Has appeared in all but one game over course of last two seasons…Communication arts major.

Ashley Rogers., sr., OH/MH, Dubuque, IA

Three-year starter on front line for Wartburg…Earned numerous honorable mention All-American, all-Central Region and all-Iowa Conference honors during career…Ended junior and sophomore seasons with 500-or-more kills…Needs just 366 to break former All-American Dia Dohlman’s career record of 1,847…Single-season attack attempt record holder (1,551 – 2005) as well as single-season record holder in block assists (151 – 2005) and total blocks (179 – 2005)…Three-year starter at first base for Wartburg softball team…Business administration major.

Leigh Christensen, sr., OH/RS, Belmond, IA

Played key bench role for defensive specialist and outside hitter slots during sophomore and junior seasons…Ended 2006 averaging just under three digs a game…Also developed as field event competitor for Wartburg women’s track and field in 2006…Business administration major.

Liz Plum, so., MH, Waterloo, IA

Stepped into starting role along front line in 2006…Ended as team leader in overall blocks (112) to go along with 192 kills…Highlighted freshman season with three consecutive .300 or better attack percentages against College of St. Benedict’s, Carleton and Loras October 7-10…Exploring major with advising preference in elementary education.

  Akeya Aimable, jr., OH, Waterloo, IA

Picked up several key late to mid-season starts at outside hitter slot in 2006…Averaged over a kill-and-a-half a game and over a dig per game in 46 games played…Exploring major with advising preference in computer information systems.

  Ngaire Honey, so., MH, Iowa City , IA

Made most of seven starts and 17 appearances in freshman season, ending with .213 attack percentage, 45 kills, and 21 block assists…Spanish major.

Whitney Dotson, so., S, Mount Vernon, IA

Looks to be among individuals in hunt for starting setter spot in 2007…Ended freshman year with 105 assists which was good for second on team…Exploring major with an advising preference in biology.

Sadie McGowan, jr., MH, Lena, Ill.

Came off bench to average a kill per game and turn in a .136 attack percentage in 15 games played during sophomore season…Physical education and fitness management double major.

  Sarah Roberts, sr., midfielder, Des Moines, Iowa

Three-year off and on starter along midfield line for Knights…Appeared in 19 of 20 matches last fall…Key member of center/mid unit…Communication design/communication arts double major.

 

Abby Showalter, sr., defender, Des Moines, Iowa

Two-year varsity player…Looks to be one of leaders of defensive unit in 2007…Has seen action in 31 matches over last two seasons…Communication arts major.

 

Jessica Archer, sr., goalkeeper, Sioux Falls, S.D.

 

Starter in net for Knights during freshman season…Finished 2005 with miniscule 0.83 goals-against average and three shutouts…Battled through injuries last fall…Chemistry major.
