Athlete Advisory Committee
Mission Statement:
The purpose of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is
to enhance the total student athlete experience by promoting opportunity,
protecting student athlete welfare and fostering communication
between the student athlete and the athletics administration.
What is
SAAC?
SAAC is to enhance the total student athlete experience by promoting
opportunity, protecting student athlete welfare and fostering
communication between the student athlete and the department of
athletics. The NCAA requires each member institution to have a
campus SAAC and conferences are also required to have a SAAC.
Purposes of SAAC:
• Provide insight on the student athlete experience.
• Input on rules, regulations and policies that affect student
athletes lives on NCAA campuses.
• Promote communication between athletics administration,
coaches and student athletes.
• Disseminate information to team members.
• Provide feedback and insight into athletics department,
conference and/or NCAA issues.
• Build a sense of community involving all teams and conference
institutions.
• Organize community service efforts.
• Promote positive student athlete image on campus and in
the community.
