CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa-- Senior Katie Sommer (Cedar Rapids) was named the Iowa Conference's player of the week for women's basketball, the conference office announced today.

Her accomplishments:

• As the Knights extended their win total to 23 last week, Sommer led the Knights in scoring (18.5 PPG), assists (6.50 APG), steals (8) and free throw percentage (.875) while also ranking second on the team in rebounds (6.5 RPG).
• In the Knight's 63-54 road win over Luther, Sommer tallied nine points eight rebounds, six assists and one steal.
• Sommer totaled 28-points, five rebounds, seven assists and seven steals in Wartburg's 99-83 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan.
• With two league games remaining, Wartburg has captured the IIAC regular season championship for the second-straight year and seventh time in program history.
• The Knights are currently ranked No. 2 in D3hoops.com and No. 3 in WBCA polls.
• This is Sommer's seventh Player of the Week honor (2/4/18, 11/26/17, 2/26/17, 2/5/17, 1/15/17, 2/8/16, 12/7/15).
