Women's Cross Country Heads to Nationals

WAVERLY, Iowa—The Wartburg women's cross country team competes in the 2014 NCAA Championships Saturday at Wilmington College (Ohio). The men's race will begin at 10 a.m. (central) followed by the women's race at 11:30 a.m.

This is the Knights' 15th appearance in the last 16 years at this event and have finished as high as second in 2012 in that time span. Wartburg placed 11th last year. Senior Haddie Vawter (Union) was the Knights' top finisher, placing 33rd in a time of 21.59.1 and earning All-American honors.

For the second consecutive year the men's team has had an individual qualifier. Last year, Senior Sam Read placed 54th at the National Championships with a time of 25:36.0. Senior Chase Moser and brother Bennett Moser will both compete on Saturday at the National Meet.
