CORAL SPRINGS, Fla.-- Three members of the Wartburg women's golf team, Samantha Heinen (Waterloo), Amy Kobliska (Alta Vista) and Kelsi Sawatzky (Ankeny), were named NGCA All-American Scholars, the National Golf Coaches Association national office announced today.
“Being named to the All-American Scholar golf team is a tribute to Kelsi, Amy and Samantha’s commitment to their academics while being a student-athlete at Wartburg," said head coach Monica Severson. "They represent the type of student-athlete we want in our women’s golf program and have set high standards for our team.”
A total of 585 collegiate women's golfers were recognized on the All-American Scholar Teams for Division I, II & III . The criteria for selection is a minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
This marks the third consecutive honor for Sawatzky and second in a row for Kobliska. This also marks the tenth-straight year a Wartburg women's golfer has been named a NGCA All-American Scholar.
The Knights were one of three Iowa Conference schools to be represented on the list.
