#1 Wartburg Seeks Ninth NCAA Championship

Wartburg had all ten wrestlers qualify for the NCAA Championships
WAVERLY, Iowa—The No. 1 ranked Wartburg College wrestling team seeks its ninth title in program history, and second consecutive, at the NCAA Championships this weekend in LaCrosse, Wis. The Knights have won three of the last four titles and since 1995, only Wartburg and No. 2 ranked Augsburg have claimed the national crown.

The Orange and Black qualified all ten wrestlers as nine finished in the top three at the Iowa Conference Championships Feb. 25 and freshman Drew Wagenhoffer received a national at-large bid.

Wartburg will also strive to finish with ten All-Americans, which would tie an NCAA record that its own program set in 2003.

The Knights are the only school to have all ten wrestlers qualify. Five competitors have first-round byes.
