Geoff Miller – sr., Midfielder/Forward, St. Louis, Mo.

Two-year starter…Been among top five in goals scored in each of previous three seasons…Ended 2008 with four goals and four assists for 12 points…Returning first team all-Iowa Conference player…Biochemistry major.

Matt Haager – sr., Defender, Bettendorf, Iowa

Started 40 of 41 matches in career…Enters 2009 as two-year starter on defense…Part of defensive units that have limited opponents to 31 goals over two seasons…Biology major.

Eric Ruggles – sr., Defender, Eagan, Minn.

Will give depth to defensive unit in 2009…Has played in 10-or-matches in each of last three seasons…Gained starting slot on defense in 2008…Engineering science major.

Trent Michael – sr., Goalkeeper, Urbandale, Iowa

Returning second team National Soccer Coaches Association of America second team pick and first team all-Iowa Conference selection…27-11 record in two previous seasons as starting keeper with 13 shutouts…Goals-against average below 0.75 in each of last two years…Communication design major.

Nate Hedrington – jr., Forward, Madison, Wis.

In first year as starter, he accumulated five goals and four assists, winding up ranked in a tie for third in goals scored and fourth in points (14)…Played in 15-or-more matches in each of last two years…Business administration and economics double major.

Eric Peters – jr., Midfielder/Defender, Bartlett, Ill.

Made most of chances as leader up top on defense and helping begin offensive attacks during freshman and sophomore seasons…Started 20 of 22 matches in 2008 and played in 19 in 2007…Produced two goals and two assists last fall…Communications design major.

Luke Prater – jr., Midfielder, Springfield, Mo.

Enters year as two-time all-Iowa Conference honoree after earning first team honors last fall and second team accolades in 2007….Two-year starter on defense…Looked to help offensive unit in 2009…Biology major.

Kyle McKenna – jr., Defender, Davenport, Iowa

Adds to strong returning defensive unit in 2009…Tabbed honorable mention all-Iowa Conference, 2008…All four goals scored last year were game winners…Started 39 of 40 matches played in career…Engineering science major.

Mike Miniaci – so., defender/midfielder, Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Picked up three starts and played in 18 matches last fall…Could be vying for starting time in Knights’ defensive set-up this season…Exploring major with advising preference in physical education.

Josh Inglebright – jr., defender/midfielder, Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Transferred into program last fall and made immediate impact on defense, starting five matches and appearing in all 22…Will be among leaders of defense in 2009…Produced 15 shot attempts in 2008…Business administration major.

Nate Gottsacker – so., forward/midfielder, Bloomington, Ill.

Made strong impact during freshman campaign on offense with two goals and two assists as part of 12 shot attempts…Looked at as key ingredient of offense in 2009…Exploring major with advising preference in business administration.

Scott Willits – jr., defender/midfielder, Bettendorf, Iowa

Appeared in 15 matches last fall and garnered eight shot attempts after transferring into program… Played key back-up role for 2008 Iowa Conference tournament champions and NCAA Division III national tournament qualifiers…Engineering science major.

2006: Played in 20 games with 16 starts…Scored 1 goal and had 4 assists…2007: Played in 20 games with 19 starts…Scored 2 goals and had 4 assists…History Major.

Jon Farrell—Jr., Forward, Washington, MO.

2007: Played in 11 games and scored 1 goal…2008: Played in 7 games…Business Administration Major.

Matt Cunard—Fr., Defender, Shawnee, KS.

High School: 3-year starter for Shawnee Mission Northwest High School…Team Captain Senior Year. Made 1st team All-Sunflower League and 2nd Team All-State Senior Year.

Jon Eickemeyer—Fr., Midfield, Rochester, MN.

High School: 3-year Starter for Lourdes High School…Made Hiawatha Valley League All-Conference and Minnesota All-State Senior Year...help lead high school team to a fourth place finish at state. Major - Business

David Holte—So., Midfield/Forward, Iowa City, IA.

Cameron Peterson—Fr., Goalkeeper, Bondurant, IA.

High School: 2-year starter for Bondurant-Farrar High School…2-time First Team All-Conference…Set Bondurant-Farrar HS record for all-time lowest goals per game.

Derek Schwanz—Fr., Midfield, Inver Grove Heights, MN.

High School: A two year starter at Simley High School…Honorable Mention All-Conference senior year…Led team to Section semifinals…Won team Spartan Award for the hardest working player.
