Lauren Thomas – sr., Midfielder, Rockford, Ill.

Two-year starter and gained strong experience in freshman campaign with 16 starts in 20 matches…Has 58 starts in 63 matches during career…Enters 2009 as third-highest returning scorer for offense after six goals, four assists and 16 points…Returning two-time second team all-Iowa Conference player…Business administration and fitness management major.

Logan Webb – sr., Defender, St. Charles, Mo.

Comes into 2009 as three-year starter for defense…Started each of team’s 21 matches last fall, 21 of 22 as a sophomore and 16 of 19 during freshman season...Two-time all-Iowa Conference honoree which includes first two accolades in 2008…Fitness management major.

Kari Krolikowski – sr., Defender, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Comes into 2009 as three-year starter for defense…Looks to return to role as defensive group leader this fall…Has started 20-or-more matches in each of previous three years…Communication arts major.

Kelsey Kovacevich – jr., Defender, Des Moines, Iowa

Member of strong returning defensive group…Appeared in each match program has played in her two previous seasons (44)…Also produced strong offensive results with four goals to credit…Biology major.

Chelsea Frye – so., Forward, Waverly, Iowa

Turned in solid freshman season in 2008…Scored 15 goals and tallied three assists for 33 points…Was second on squad in goals, points and shots attempted (63)…Returning first team all-Iowa Conference player….Started and played in all 21 matches last season…Exploring major.

Katie Wendt – so., Midfielder/Forward, Bettendorf, Iowa

Also had good first year in Wartburg program last fall…Ranked third on squad in goals (nine), points (22) and shots attempted (62)…Returning first team all-Iowa Conference player…Started and played in all 21 matches last year…Psychology major.

Jess Macauley – so., Midfelder, Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Adds to young but talented offensive unit in 2009…Started in each of team’s 21 matches last fall with a goal and assist to credit…Her lone goal was a game-winning score against Iowa Conference rival that led to 2-0 regular season victory that helped clinch program’s first league championship…Exploring major with advising preference in chemistry.

MacKenzie Moore – so., Defender, Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Member of strong returning defensive group…Started each of team’s 21 matches during freshman season…Returning second team all-Iowa Conference player…Biology major.

Annie Fangman – jr., midfielder, Winthrop, Iowa

Came off bench during midseason last fall and wound up being team’s fifth leading scorer with four goals in 13 shot attempts…Looked to be among 2009 squad’s top offensive players…Biology major.

Christina Ernst – sr., goalkeeper, Carol Stream, Ill.

Heads into 2009 campaign as top keeper prospect…Started 19 of 20 matches during freshman season and has appeared in 13-or-more matches in each of last seasons…Ended 2008 with 3-1-1 record, one shutout, 13 saves and a 0.46 goals-against average…Elementary education major.

Taylor Vermie – so., midfielder/defender, Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Played in 18 matches during first season with Knights…Could be looked upon to assist strong defensive unit this fall…Exploring major with an advising preference in business administration.

Whitney Larish – so., defender, Lakeville, Minn.

Filled important back-up role for defensive unit last fall…Appeared in 11 matches…Will be looked at to make contributions in same area in 2009…Exploring major with advising preference in biochemistry.

Krista Pederson – Fr., Midfield/Defender , Martelle, IA

High school : A four year starter for Xavier high school...helped lead Xavier to four State Championships during her tenure…served as a team captain her senior year…Student body president…received the Kennedy Leadership award and the Rockwell Scholarship. Major – Communication Arts

Lindsey Boyke- Fr., Defender/Midfield, Verona, WI.

High school: A four year starter for Verona High school…three-time Honorable mention all-conference…served twice as a team captain and voted twice as most dedicated player…President of National Honor Society…Participated in senior All-Star game. Major – Biology

Shaleigh Werkman – Fr., Midfield/Forward, Marion, IA.

High School: A four year starter at Linn-Mar High School…served twice as a captain..First Team All-Metro, First Team All-Conference, and All-State Honorable Mention during her senior season…National Honor Society…Iowa ’90 ODP state team. Major - Biology

Kaylee Benning – Fr., Midfield, Waverly, IA.

High School: A four year varsity standout at local Waverly-Shell Rock High School…2009 All-state Second Team…set Waverly-Shell Rock record for single season goals (40)… as a senior participated in the East vs. West All-Star game… help lead team to four state tournament appearances and a 2nd place finish in 2006…named to the All-Tournament State Team as a Junior…All-State Honorable Mention as a sophomore…also competed on the volleyball, basketball and softball teams…National Honor Society President…Senior Class President…DECA National Qualifier. High School: A two year starter for Glenbard North…team MVP as a senior, Honorable Mention All-Conference as a Seniory…Recorded over 200 saves in 20 Games her senior year…also competed on the volleyball and basketball…is a member of the Wartburg Basketball team. Major – Pre Physical therapy

Carly Russell – Fr., Defender, Eldridge, IA.

High School: A three year starter for North Scott High School…helped lead team to sub-state final appearance in her senior season. Major – International Business
