About the Coach:
Tara Winter began coaching cheerleading at Wartburg in the spring of 2004. She began her coaching career in 2001 at Simpson College. She is a member of the Iowa Cheerleading Coaches Association and is certified in safety by the American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Administrators.

A 2001 Wartburg graduate, she majored in Business Administration and cheered four seasons for the Knights. She also serves as assistant director of admissions.

SQUAD INFORMATION

Wartburg College currently has squads for football and basketball that cheer at all the home games. The program is open to women and men. The squads maintain regular practice times that include conditioning and stunting. The cheerleaders also participate in homecoming activities, clinics and camps. A competition squad is selected on a year-to-year basis. First-year students are eligible for all squads.

Tryout Information
Wartburg College holds tryouts each spring and fall to evaluate the leadership, athletic abilities and potential of qualified applicants for the fall and winter squads.
