Success as a student-athlete requires striking a balance between the demands of the classroom and the rigors of the sport. With the support of professors and coaches, many Wartburg student-athletes have earned national and conference honors for their academic and athletic achievements.
Since 1995, 32 Wartburg students have been designated by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) as Academic All-Americans.The award recognizes student-athletes for their performance in the classroom and in athletics. Since 1970, a total of 65 Wartburg students have achieved that distinction.
The Iowa Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference, one of NCAA Division III’s most
respected leagues, named 30 Wartburg student-athletes as fall academic
all-conference players for 2008-09.
